Velomaat
A bike shop with a social gear
At Velomaat, you can count on two things: a great bike and a tailored approach. The latter has more than one meaning, because as a social enterprise, Velomaat offers its employees challenging jobs that suit them. With a team of thirty bike mechanics, your bike gets serviced quickly and precisely. In short, choosing Velomaat means getting a quality bike while giving someone else a helping hand.
To match this active and social mission, we went looking for colour in the branding. The visual identity uses a striking and vibrant palette: bright purple, apple green, coral red, ochre yellow and orange-red contrast with black and white. Together, they bring a sense of freedom and an energy boost to Velomaat’s visual identity.
A logo with bike legs
A striking colour palette calls for an equally striking logo. We combined two completely different typefaces: a bold display font paired with a thin, typewriter-style lowercase font. See that stepped rhythm? It’s directly inspired by the pedals of a bicycle.
For the visual identity, we selected two fonts: one for headlines, quotes and subheadings, and one for body copy. Together, they create a consistent and easy-to-read system, with the bold elements grabbing attention and the thinner type adding an elegant finish. All in Velomaat’s thoughtful style.
Consistency, all the way to the finish line
We crossed the finish line with a brand guidelines document, detailing the correct use of the logo, colours and typography. This allows Velomaat to apply its visual identity consistently across every communication touchpoint, from social media and website to print.
Velomaat can now pedal confidently into the future with a brand identity that effortlessly carries even its biggest ambitions on the back rack.
