Since 1999, the bar and restaurant has been a go-to spot for worldly flavours and timeless classics. Now with a fresh new look, but still unmistakably Mosquito.

Boundlessly Ghent

In the early nineties, two passionate world travellers, Martine and Rudi, settled in Ghent. They were among the first to serve cocktails alongside an unexpected mix of dishes: Lebanese falafel, Mexican enchiladas and traditional Ghent stew. It worked. More than 25 years later, Mosquito Coast is still firmly on the map. Over the years, the interior and style evolved, but the loyal customers and stories stayed.

By 2026, it was time for a new chapter.. The first step in the rebrand was defining a brand story and baseline. Our copywriter dug deep into the heart of the business and found one clear thread: Ghent. Mosquito Coast and the city are inseparable. And Ghent? It loooves MC.

Today, owners Tim and Rudi aim to transcend cultures and borders through their diverse menu. A nod to the café’s roots as a travel bar. One plus one equals two: that is how the new baseline Boundlessly Ghent was born.

Café Compass and Salon Mondial

The biggest challenge? Showing newcomers that Mosquito Coast feels fresh and contemporary, without making loyal regulars feel like their beloved café had changed completely. A balancing act between the identity of the past and the one of today.

With a hand-drawn logo, lighter colours and sharp copy, we built a new identity that feels different while carrying the same adventurous soul. And that wall filled with faded travel photos? That stayed.

Ready to roll?

Mosquito stands for smooth service, an easy-going atmosphere and a touch of rock ’n’ roll. We translated that energy into every detail: window stickers, team merch, flexible templates and menu blocks with QR codes that smoothly switch to an English version of the menu. Pure Mosquito.
